TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 56-3-1295 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE TITLE, REGISTRATION, AND LICENSE PLATE OF A DECEDENT'S MOTOR VEHICLE MAY BE REISSUED TO THE DECEDENT'S SURVIVING SPOUSE UPON APPLICATION, AND TO PROVIDE THAT NO FEES ARE CHARGED FOR THESE REISSUES AND THAT THESE REISSUES DO NOT INTERRUPT THE MOTOR VEHICLE TAX YEAR OF THE VEHICLE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Fees otherwise applicable to these transactions do not apply, and the reissue of the motor vehicle registration and license plate in the name of the surviving spouse does not interrupt the motor vehicle tax year of the affected vehicle."
