TO CONGRATULATE RYAN BAXTER OF COLUMBIA ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RECEIVING THE EAGLE SCOUT AWARD.

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives of South Carolina are very pleased to learn that Ryan Baxter at a Court of Honor to be held in the near future will receive his Eagle Scout award; and

Whereas, this outstanding young man is a senior at Richland Northeast High School, is the son of Ransom and Louise Baxter of Columbia, and is a member of Troop 117 of Ridgewood Baptist Church; and

Whereas, the Boy Scouts of America for many, many years have helped mold the character, honor, and trustworthiness of thousands of young people from a number of countries and to achieve scouting's highest honor is a credit not only to Ryan Baxter but also to his family, scoutmasters, church, and community as well; and

Whereas, to receive an Eagle Scout award, a scout must first matriculate through earlier ranks, earn merit badges in a variety of disciplines, do community service projects, and display those personal characteristics that honor the tradition of scouting worldwide; and

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, would like to publicly recognize and congratulate Ryan Baxter on his receipt of this truly deserved award. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives congratulate Ryan Baxter of Columbia on the occasion of his receiving the Eagle Scout award.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Eagle Scout Ryan Baxter.
