A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO EXTEND THE BEST WISHES AND HEARTFELT CONGRATULATIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO OUR "MISS SOUTH CAROLINA TEEN 2001", SARAH ASHLEY MEDLEY OF NORTH CHARLESTON, AND TO WISH HER EVERY SUCCESS IN THE NATIONAL "MISS USA TEEN 2001" COMPETITION IN AUGUST 2001.

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives are proud to have the opportunity to recognize "Miss South Carolina Teen 2001", Sarah Ashley Medley of North Charleston; and

Whereas, this outstanding and lovely young lady is the daughter of Donnie and Patricia Medley. She has two brothers, Claye and Taube, and a sister, Chelse; and

Whereas, Ms. Medley was born on April 21, 1986. She is home-schooled and attends Seacoast Christian Community Church; and

Whereas, for the past ten years Ms. Medley has been acting and modeling professionally. She has appeared on television and in films; she has done music videos and numerous commercials; and

Whereas, she is an active, athletic young woman who enjoys tae-kwon-do, roller blading, kick-boxing, and swimming; and

Whereas, Sarah is not only talented and smart, she is also a caring and generous human being with deeply-rooted family values and impeccably high standards; and

Whereas, Sarah is active in her community. She participates in the North Charleston Exchange Club, Carolina Children's charity, and programs on child abuse prevention. She plans to get involved with the local D.A.R.E. program and The Orphan House; and

Whereas, we are extremely proud of Sarah Medley and are delighted to recognize her as a goodwill ambassador and excellent role model for teens in our State and a representative of the Palmetto State who is making a difference. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, extend their best wishes and heartfelt congratulations to "Miss South Carolina Teen 2001", Sarah Ashley Medley of North Charleston, and wish her every success in the national "Miss USA Teen 2001" competition in August 2001.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Sarah Ashley Medley.
