A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 59-50-20, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA GOVERNOR'S SCHOOL FOR THE ARTS AND HUMANITIES, SO AS TO DELETE AS A MEMBER OF THE BOARD THE CHAIRMAN OF THE JOINT LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE ON CULTURAL AFFAIRS WHICH HAS BEEN ABOLISHED AND TO PROVIDE THAT A MEMBER OF THE EDUCATION OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE, SELECTED BY THE COMMITTEE, SHALL BE A MEMBER OF THE BOARD TO SERVE EX OFFICIO.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Section 59-50-20(3) of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

    "(3)    the Chairman of the Joint Legislative Committee on Cultural Affairs one member of the Education Oversight Committee, to be selected by the committee, who serves ex officio;"

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
