A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 2-17-90, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO ACTS PROHIBITED OF LOBBYISTS' PRINCIPALS, SO AS TO ADD AN EXCEPTION FOR THE COST OF FOOD AND BEVERAGES FOR PUBLIC EMPLOYEES ATTENDING A FEDERALLY MANDATED TRAINING PROGRAM.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Section 2-17-90(A) of the 1976 Code is amended by adding an appropriately numbered item to read:

    "( )    as to public employees, a function to which the public employee is invited if the function is the result of a federally mandated training program or exercise, the training or exercise occurs not more than twice a year, and the cost of the food or beverages provided does not exceed twenty dollars for each function for each person."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
