TO PROVIDE THAT THE LEXINGTON COUNTY COUNCIL IN EXPENDING REVENUES OF THE TAX IMPOSED IN LEXINGTON COUNTY PURSUANT TO THE LOCAL ACCOMMODATIONS TAX ACT IS REQUIRED TO PROMOTE TOURISM AND MAKE TOURISM-RELATED EXPENDITURES PRIMARILY IN THE GEOGRAPHICAL AREAS OF THE COUNTY IN WHICH THE PROCEEDS OF THE TAX ARE COLLECTED WHERE IT IS PRACTICAL.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. In the expenditure of revenues of the tax imposed in Lexington County pursuant to the Local Accommodations Tax Act, the governing body of Lexington County is required to promote tourism and make tourism-related expenditures primarily in the geographical areas of the county in which the proceeds of the tax are collected where it is practical.
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
