TO RECOGNIZE THE MANY ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF MR. CLARENCE ODELLE JACKSON OF GREENVILLE COUNTY AS HE COMPLETES HIS FIVE-YEAR TERM AS PRESIDENT OF THE STATE USHER AUXILIARY CONVENTION.
Whereas, Mr. Clarence Odelle Jackson, a native of Greenville County, is the son of the late Sunnie Sherman and John R. Jackson; and
Whereas, in 1937 he graduated from Saint Alban High School with honors and as Valedictorian of a class of fourteen students, and received an associate degree in Education from Bettis Academy and Junior College in Trenton, South Carolina; and
Whereas, Mr. Jackson served as an educator in the state's public school system for forty-one years; and
Whereas, he is a member of Reedy Fork Baptist Church, where he is the Intermediate and Adult Church School Teacher, Church Superintendent, Church Clerk, Deacon Emeritus of the Deacon's Ministry, Director of Vacation Bible School, a member of the Male Chorus and Mass Choir, and leads the Brotherhood Ministry and the Royal Ambassadors; and
Whereas, he has served as Secretary of the Reedy River Baptist Association and the Reedy River Baptist Union of Churches, and President of the Reedy River Congress of Christian Education, and Dean of the American Baptist College; and
Whereas, it has been brought to the attention of the members of the House of Representatives that Mr. Jackson is completing his five-year term as President of the State Usher Auxiliary Convention; and
Whereas, it is fitting and proper for the members of the House of Representatives to pause in their deliberations and recognize him on this occasion. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize the many accomplishments of Mr. Clarence Odelle Jackson of Greenville County as he completes his five-year term as President of the State Usher Auxiliary Convention.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mr. Clarence Odelle Jackson.
