A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS PROFOUND SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA UPON THE DEATH OF BENNIE LEE WILLIAMS OF COLUMBIA ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 27, 2001, AND EXTEND DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina were deeply saddened by the death of respected realtor, loving family man, and loyal friend, Bennie Lee Williams of Columbia, on November 27, 2001, his sixty-fifth birthday; and

Whereas, Bennie Lee Williams was born November 27, 1936, in Pelion, the third child of the late Henry Boyce and Rosa Bell Williams. He attended Benedict College, where he received a degree in biology. After serving in the United States Army for two years, he went on to receive his masters degree in psychology from Marshall University; and

Whereas, Ben Williams worked as Chief of Psychology at Crafts-Farrow Hospital for several years before shifting to the field of real estate in 1972, where he has been for the last twenty-nine years. He worked as a state certified general appraiser and broker in charge of his own firm, Ben Williams Realty; and

Whereas, Ben Williams married Andrea Camille Middleton on August 12, 1967. They were blessed with three children, Victor, Eric, and Paxton; and

Whereas, Mr. Williams was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church for thirty years, under the guidance of Reverend Richard Dozier; and

Whereas, members of the House of Representatives extend their sympathy to the family and friends of Mr. Bennie Lee Williams. He is survived by his wife, Andrea; his sons, Victor, Eric, and Paxton; his sister, Annie Lloyd-Camacho and her husband Cecilio; a mother-in-law, Elizabeth Middleton; a brother-in-law, Albert Middleton; a sister-in-law, Irma Scott; nieces and nephews, Maxine Blanks, Zachery Lloyd, Allan Lloyd, Pam Lloyd, Michel Williams, Wanda Clark, Benjamin Middleton, Guy Middleton, Ashli Scott, and Andre Scott; and countless relatives and friends. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, express their profound sorrow upon the death of Bennie Lee Williams of Columbia on Tuesday, November 27, 2001, and extend deepest sympathy to his family and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to his widow, Mrs. Andrea Williams.
