A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE AMANDA HOLDER, GIRLS' BASKETBALL COACH FOR SENECA HIGH SCHOOL, ON THE OCCASION OF HER 500TH WIN, AND TO RECOGNIZE THE MANY OTHER ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF HER STELLAR COACHING CAREER.

Whereas, Amanda Holder earned her 500th win as a girl's basketball coach on January 14, 2002, when her Seneca Bobcats whipped the team from Pickens 61-37; and

Whereas, it is fitting that the successful basketball mentor's latest milestone was achieved at the helm of the Bobcat girls' program, which she started in 1974 at the age of twenty-one; and

Whereas, along the way she has compiled a lifetime record of 500-201, ranking her as the state's fifth winningest active coach and the second top winner among female coaches; and

Whereas, Coach Holder's Bobcats have made it to the playoffs twenty of the twenty-seven seasons she has coached them, and have brought home two state championships and three runner-up trophies; and

Whereas, this three-time 3-A Coach of the Year has produced twenty-six collegiate players, including five at the Division I level; and

Whereas, of all her accomplishments, she is proudest of her twenty-six year marriage and three "great" children. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives congratulate and recognize Amanda Holder, girls' basketball coach of Seneca High School, on the occasion of her 500th win and the many other accomplishments of her stellar coaching career.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Coach Holder.
