TO COMMEND AND SUPPORT THE NATIONAL VOTER REGISTRATION INITIATIVE'S DEMOCRACY UNITES CAMPAIGN IN SOUTH CAROLINA.
Whereas, the National Voter Registration Initiative is a nonpartisan, nonprofit corporation that promotes voter registration; and
Whereas, the National Voter Registration Initiative provides voter registration forms to universities throughout the State of South Carolina; and
Whereas, the National Voter Registration Initiative is founded and run by college students; and
Whereas, the National Voter Registration Initiative's Democracy Unites Campaign in South Carolina is a public event to promote voter registration as a means of uniting democracy; and
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina are a direct link to the people of the Palmetto State. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commend and support the National Voter Registration Initiative's Democracy Unites Campaign in South Carolina.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the President of the National Voter Registration Initiative, George C. Beighley, Jr.
