TO COMMEND MRS. NANCY MCCANNON OF ANDERSON COUNTY FOR HER OUTSTANDING WORK IN THE FIELD OF AGRIBUSINESS AND TO CONGRATULATE HER ON WINNING THE 2002 PIEDMONT REGION AGRIBUSINESS AWARD.
Whereas, Mrs. Nancy McCannon of Pendleton, South Carolina, is the proud recipient of the 2002 Piedmont Region Agribusiness Award, presented by the South Carolina Young Farmer and Agribusiness Association; and
Whereas, this prestigious award, which is sponsored by the Pee Dee Savings Bank of Marion, is presented to only three members of the state agricultural association each year; and
Whereas, Nancy McCannon is a member of the Pendleton Young Farmer and Agribusiness Chapter, is a graduate of Clemson University, and is a commissioner of the Anderson Conservation District; and
Whereas, Mrs. McCannon received the award at a ceremony held in Charleston, South Carolina, with her husband Steve and her son Joey in attendance; and
Whereas, today, as was the case with the first settlers who arrived here in 1670, farming and agriculture remain critical to the well-being of people in the Palmetto State; South Carolinians have a rich history of cultivating the land for our survival, and through the efforts of Nancy McCannon and others like her, that history is sure to endure the changes brought on by the twenty-first century. Now, therefore,

That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, commend Mrs. Nancy McCannon of Anderson County for her outstanding work in the field of agribusiness and congratulate her on winning the 2002 Piedmont Region Agribusiness Award.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Nancy McCannon of Pendleton, South Carolina.
