TO COMMEND AND CONGRATULATE THE MEMBERS OF THE TURBEVILLE RURITAN CLUB FOR FIFTY YEARS OF DILIGENT AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE EAST CLARENDON COUNTY COMMUNITY AND TO WISH THEM MUCH SUCCESS IN THE FUTURE.
Whereas, the members of the Senate of the State of South Carolina proudly recognize the Turbeville Ruritan Club on the occasion of its fiftieth anniversary and commend the members for all of their hard work and accomplishments over the past fifty years; and
Whereas, the Ruritan Club is a nationwide organization comprised of interested citizens from rural areas who are committed to strengthening their communities; and
Whereas, the Ruritans participate in many valuable projects including scholarship assistance to local students, essay contests that support educational issues, and efforts to strengthen community spirit and pride; and
Whereas, the Turbeville Ruritans undertook several exciting and helpful projects in 2001. The members renovated the Sunny Side School as a cultural arts center and organized a Fall 2001 Arts Festival. The Ruritans are also establishing a Veterans Memorial Monument on the town green and a fiftieth anniversary celebration for the club; and
Whereas, the Senate is pleased to acclaim the Turbeville Ruritan Club on the monumental occasion of its fiftieth anniversary and charge the members to continue the many wonderful projects they have contributed to the East Clarendon community. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the Senate of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commend and congratulate the members of the Turbeville Ruritan Club for fifty years of diligent and dedicated service to the East Clarendon County community and wish them much success in the future.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Turbeville Ruritan Club.
