VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO CONGRATULATE THE MEMBERS OF THE CHESTER HIGH SCHOOL WOMENS VARSITY BASKETBALL TEAM AND HEAD COACH ZEKE WASHINGTON AND HIS COACHING STAFF ON WINNING THEIR FIRST STATE CLASS AAA CHAMPIONSHIP, COMMEND THEM FOR THEIR EXTRAORDINARY DEDICATION, DETERMINATION, AND HARD WORK THROUGHOUT THE 2004 SEASON THAT ENABLED THEM TO CAPTURE THE 2004 CLASS AAA CHAMPIONSHIP, AND TO WISH THEM EVERY SUCCESS IN ALL OF THEIR ACADEMIC, ATHLETIC, AND FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
Whereas, the game of basketball affords young people the opportunity to learn the importance of dedication and teamwork while developing amazing athletic talents; and
Whereas, becoming a champion in this sport requires every member of the team and coaching staff to have special leadership skills and physical prowess, as well as a finely honed ability to communicate effectively on the court; and
Whereas, using these talents with drive, determination, and countless hours of hard work, the members of the Chester High School Lady Cyclones basketball team had an outstanding season; and
Whereas, with an exceptional performance from a topnotch team and the superb coaching of Head Coach Zeke Washington and his staff, the Lady Cyclones finished the 2004 season with a great record and emerged victorious as the Class AAA State Champion by defeating Dreher High School by a score of 51-43; and
Whereas, it is with great pride and immense pleasure that we recognize the physical and mental abilities of these young South Carolinians and hope that they will use those skills both on and off the basketball court in their future endeavors. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the Senate, by this resolution, congratulate the members of the Chester High School varsity womens basketball team and Head Coach Zeke Washington and his coaching staff on winning their first State Class AAA Championship, commend them for their extraordinary dedication, determination, and hard work throughout the 2004 season that enabled them to capture the 2004 Class AAA Championship and wish them every success in all of their academic, athletic, and future endeavors.
