A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE SINCERE APPRECIATION OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO DR. EVAN COHEN OF LEXINGTON FOR HIS SERVICE AS CHIROPRACTOR OF THE WEEK TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY EVERY WEDNESDAY DURING THE LEGISLATIVE SESSION AND TO RECOGNIZE HIS SERVICE AS THE 2003-04 PRESIDENT AND GOLF COMMITTEE CHAIR OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA CHIROPRACTIC ASSOCIATION.

Whereas, in an effort to make chiropractic treatment more readily available to members of the South Carolina General Assembly who cannot always make time in their busy schedules during the legislative week for a chiropractic office visit, the South Carolina Chiropractic Association continued its State House "Chiropractor of the Week" program during the 2004 legislative session; and

Whereas, Dr. Evan Cohen selflessly devoted several hours out of his office every Wednesday since January to participate in this program and provide relief to many legislators suffering from minor neck and back pain; and

Whereas, Dr. Cohen utilized this time at the State House to educate the state's leaders regarding the benefits of chiropractic care; and

Whereas, Dr. Cohen not only provided this much-needed service to the members of the legislature, but also worked tirelessly with the South Carolina Chiropractic Association during the past year serving with distinction as its president; and

Whereas, during his presidency, Dr. Cohen spent countless hours traveling the State to promote the South Carolina Chiropractic Association and recruit new members to the association; and

Whereas, Dr. Cohen also dedicated many days and nights as chair of the association's committee to organize the sixth annual "Tee It Up for Chiropractic" Legislative Golf Tournament which broke all previous records for prizes and proceeds; and

Whereas, the South Carolina Senate is pleased to pause to recognize the contributions of Dr. Cohen and thank him for providing immediate pain relief to so many by offering minor adjustments and treating conditions of the spine on a weekly basis through the South Carolina Chiropractic Association's State House "Chiropractor of the Week" program. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Evan Cohen of Lexington for his service as Chiropractor of the Week to the General Assembly every Wednesday during the legislative session and recognize his service as the 2003-04 President and Golf Committee Chair of the South Carolina Chiropractic Association.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dr. Evan Cohen.
