VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO EXPRESS SUPPORT FOR AND ADMIRATION OF THE BRAVE MEN AND WOMEN OF SOUTH CAROLINA SERVING IN THE UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES, INCLUDING THE NATIONAL GUARD AND RESERVES, AND TO WISH THEM GODSPEED IN THEIR DANGEROUS MISSIONS INVOLVING THE WAR ON TERRORISM AND IRAQ AND A SAFE RETURN FROM HARM'S WAY.
Whereas, the President of the United States has activated and deployed numerous men and women of the armed forces including the National Guard and Reserves from the State of South Carolina to assignments and missions related to the ongoing global war on terror and the current crisis in Iraq; and
Whereas, the citizens of the this State are widely respected for their patriotism in answering their nation's call to duty, whenever the cause of freedom and justice is threatened by foreign tyrants and aggressors; and
Whereas, the uniformed men and women of our State are once again called upon to offer their utmost devotion in the defense of their country and to bring peace to a troubled corner of the world; and
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, express their deep respect for and pride in the men and women of our armed forces from all parts of the United States and especially from South Carolina as they engage in a dangerous confrontation with forces of evil and tyranny. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, express support for and admiration of the brave men and women of South Carolina serving in the United States armed forces, including the National Guard and Reserves and wish them Godspeed in their dangerous missions involving the war on terrorism and Iraq and a safe return from harm's way.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the President of the United States and to each member of the South Carolina Congressional Delegation.
