VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
CONGRATULATING THE 2004 CHAPIN HIGH SCHOOL "FIGHTING EAGLES" GOLF TEAM ON THE SCHOOL'S HISTORIC FIRST CLASS AA SOUTH CAROLINA TEAM GOLF TITLE AND WISHING THE GOLFERS WELL AS THEY MOVE ON TO CLASS AAA COMPETITION NEXT YEAR.
Whereas, the Chapin High School "Fighting Eagles" Golf Team capped a stellar regular season Tuesday, May 11, 2004, with a twelve-stroke win at Hunter's Creek Golf Club in Greenwood to take the school's first State Class AA team golf title; and
Whereas, the golfers put together a perfect season with sixteen wins in sixteen matches, and played steady golf across the ranks with an average score of 79; and
Whereas, only Joseph McCown finished in the top ten individuals to take a tie for fourth on the strength of two consecutive 74's, the steady team play and year-round effort and leadership of the team's seniors were the formula for Coach Ryan Cole and Assistant Coach Kent Honea's championship season; and
Whereas, although Chapin's athletic program moves to Class AAA competition next year, the 2004 golf team leaves its winning legacy; and
Whereas, members of the team are: John Gault, T Cox, Jeff Morris, Joseph McCown, Jason Livingston, Jared Greene, Elliott Lopez, Acie Craft, Stephen Holmes, John Allen Meetze, Harrell Guy, and Chase Durham. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulate the 2004 Chapin High School "Fighting Eagles" Golf Team on the school's historic first Class AA South Carolina team golf title and wishing the golfers well as they move on to Class AAA competition next year.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Coach Ryan Cole and the Chapin High School "Fighting Eagles" Golf Team.
