VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO PROVIDE THE CRITERIA AND CONDITIONS FOR THE PLACEMENT OF PORTRAITS IN THE SENATE CHAMBER AND IN THE GRESSETTE SENATE OFFICE BUILDING.
Be it resolved by the Senate:
(A) The Senate of South Carolina, by this resolution, adopts the following conditions for the placement of portraits in the Senate Chamber and in the Gressette Senate Office Building:
(1) If the portrait is to be located within the Senate Chamber, the subject of the portrait must be deceased, must be a former President Pro Tempore of the Senate, and must have had at least fifty years of combined service as a local, state, or federal elected public official which concluded as a member of the South Carolina Senate.
(2) If the portrait is to be located in the Gressette Senate Office Building the subject of the portrait must be deceased, and must have had at least thirty years of combined service as a local, state, or federal elected public official which concluded as a member of the South Carolina Senate.
(B) The provisions of this resolution apply to portraits to be located in the Senate Chamber or the Gressette Senate Office Building after the date of adoption of this resolution.
