The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr. as follows:

Our thought for today is from Ecclesiastes 9:17: "The quiet words of the wise are more to be heeded than the shouts of a ruler of fools."
Let us pray. Dear Lord, as we come to the end of the work week, we give thanks for guiding us and giving us the strength to work. Continue to bless us this day with wisdom and courage to carry out our duties to the best of our ability. Bless our President and all our leaders. Protect our troops from harm. Hear us, Father. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
