The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr. as follows:
Our thought for today is from Ecclesiastes 2:24: "There is nothing better for mortals than to eat and drink, and find enjoyment in their toil."
Let us pray. Almighty God, awaken within us the desire to strive to do the best we can in the responsibilities You have placed upon us. Remind us of Your loving care and the protection of Your children everywhere. Today we commend to Your gracious care and concern the men and women who have been called to serve our Country. Protect them in danger. Continue Your blessings on our State, our Nation, and her leaders. Hear us as we pray. Amen.
