The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr. as follows:
Our thought for today is from Psalm 51:1: "Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your unfailing love."
Let us pray. O God, give us the joy of hearing You say to us, "Well done, good and faithful servant." Grant us the grace to carry out our duties this day with the knowledge You will bless us. We pray for our Nation and our State and all our people who labor, that they will act according to Your desire and that they may accomplish the work for the people. Bless our defenders of freedom and protect those in harms way. Comfort those who wait at home. Hear us, Gracious Lord. Amen.
