A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO EXTEND THE CONGRATULATIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO THE CHRIST CHURCH EPISCOPAL SCHOOL BOYS TENNIS TEAM FOR ITS OUTSTANDING DETERMINATION AND HARD WORK THROUGHOUT THEIR SEASON AND ON CAPTURING THE 2004 CLASS A-AA BOYS TENNIS STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.

Whereas, to excel at tennis demands individual strength and agility as well as team play; and

Whereas, using those talents, Coaches Sally Shurtz and Bobby Austell and the members of the Christ Church Cavaliers Boys Tennis Team finished their season with the 2004 Class A-AA State Championship Title when they defeated Waccamaw 4-2; and

Whereas, this State Championship marks the nineteenth since 1976, and the sixth consecutive state title for the Cavaliers, the most consecutive state championships by any boys tennis team in the State; and

Whereas, Christ Church placed first in the Waccamaw Champions Challenge Tennis Tournament and second in the Charlotte Country Day's Buccaneer Invitational Tennis Tournament; and

Whereas, on their way to the state title with an undefeated season, this outstanding group of young men also captured the 2004 Region Championship Title; and

Whereas, the members of the 2004 Christ Church Episcopal School "Cavaliers" Boys Tennis Team are: Will Guzick, Gray Yeargin, Henry Walker, Ryan Horton, Robert Allen, Daniel Knause, Joe Ellison, Justin Krieger, Matthew Ulmer, and Warren Moseley; and

Whereas, it is with great pleasure that we recognize these talented young South Carolinians and hope that they will use those skills in their future endeavors. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, extend their congratulations to the Christ Church Episcopal School Boys Tennis Team for its outstanding determination and hard work throughout their season and on capturing the 2004 Class A-AA Boys Tennis State Championship Title.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Christ Church Episcopal School Boys Tennis Team in Greenville.
