A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND CONGRATULATE JAMES AVERY WILKS OF ANDERSON FOR EARNING A PERFECT SCORE OF 1600 ON THE SCHOLASTIC APTITUDE TEST (SAT) AND FOR BEING NAMED THE STATE AAAA SAT STUDENT CHAMPION AND TO WISH HIM GREAT SUCCESS IN ALL OF HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, being a member of an academic team allows young people to have the opportunity to learn the skills of cooperation and teamwork while honoring their mental acuity; and

Whereas, to be a champion in Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) competition, all members of the team and coaching staff must demonstrate outstanding teamwork and exceptional academic abilities; and

Whereas, James Avery Wilks, the son of Harris and Joy Wilks of Anderson, South Carolina, is a 2004 senior class member of Westside High School, and his dedication and diligence have earned him a perfect score of 1600 on the SAT test; and

Whereas, Mr. Wilks took the test on separate occasions and scored a perfect 800 on each part of the test, resulting in a combined score of 1600; and

Whereas, Mr. Wilks, a participant on his school's SAT team, was the recipient of several awards, including being named the State AAAA SAT Student Champion; and

Whereas, it is with great pleasure that we recognize James Avery Wilks and his outstanding academic abilities and superb performance on the SAT. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and congratulate James Avery Wilks of Anderson for earning a perfect score of 1600 on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and for being named the State AAAA SAT Student Champion and wish him great success in all of his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to James Avery Wilks of Anderson.
