VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO EXTEND THE CONGRATULATIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO THE SOUTH CAROLINA SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF AND BLIND FOOTBALL TEAM AND HEAD COACH MIKE SIMS ON THEIR UNDEFEATED 2004 FOOTBALL SEASON.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives applaud the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind Football Team on winning every single game during their historic 2004 season; and
Whereas, taking each game as it came, the football team's remarkable series of wins propelled them to end the year undefeated; and
Whereas, the members of the team showed tremendous perseverance and tenacity throughout the season to achieve this championship season; and
Whereas, a winning football program requires every member of the team and coaching staff to possess special leadership skills and athletic abilities; and
Whereas, using those talents, Head Coach Mike Sims; Assistant Coaches Jeremy Carpenter and Howard Turner; Athletic Director Bob Morrow; Student Managers Gaudhi Evans and Anthony Mays; and the members of the team performed throughout their season with determination and precision to earn this recognition; and
Whereas, the members of this exceptional team are Willie Bell, Lordwin Bennett, Terry Bennett, Loman Brooks, Steve Campbell, David Colon, Ricky Gadsden, Lance Hall, Marvin Hampton, Virgil Jeske, Lee Kirby, Steven McAteer, Corey McCants, Wendell Ratliff, Jamal Shaw, Chris Simons, Mike Sizemore, Trever Sorensen, Reggie Walker, Frederick Watson, and Xavier Williams; and
Whereas, it is with great pleasure that the South Carolina House of Representatives pauses to recognize the outstanding abilities of these young South Carolinians and encourage them to continue to use those abilities in their future endeavors. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulate the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind Football Team and Head Coach Mike Sims on their undefeated 2004 football season.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Head Coach Mike Sims on behalf of the winning South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind Football Team.
