A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND MR. KENNETH BELUE ON HIS SUCCESS AS AN AWARD-WINNING GO-KART RACER AND FOR HIS SUCCESS IN AUTO SHOW COMPETITIONS.

Whereas, during the 1980's, Mr. Kenneth Belue began his racing career with the World Karting Association by racing go-karts at local tracks; and

Whereas, in 1987 he was named national champion on the east coast in go-kart racing; and

Whereas, in 1992 Kenneth was named South Carolina dirt champion in open-modified go-kart racing; and

Whereas, during one racing season, he won an astounding one hundred seventy-six races; and

Whereas, Kenneth later developed an interest in auto show competition and used a 1990 Chevy truck to win the 2002 national championship in show and shine along with best show truck. In 2003, he was named national champion for the second straight year and again captured the title of best show truck; and

Whereas, Kenneth was named the 2003 champion in the thirteenth annual all Chevy\GMC trucking national competition held in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and was subsequently featured in several magazines and newspapers; and

Whereas, he attributes his success to the belief that when a person focuses his mind on doing something, he can achieve that goal; and

Whereas, it is fitting and proper for the members of the House of Representatives to pause in their deliberations to recognize this son of South Carolina for his many accomplishments. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution commend Mr. Kenneth Belue on his success as an award-winning go-kart racer and for his success in auto show competitions.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mr. Kenneth Belue.
