VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO COMMEND THE PLAYERS, COACHES, AND STAFF OF THE EASTSIDE HIGH SCHOOL "EAGLES" VARSITY BOYS SOCCER TEAM FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING SEASON OF SPIRITED COMPETITION AND TO CONGRATULATE THEM ON WINNING THE 2005 SOUTH CAROLINA CLASS AAA SOCCER STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.
Whereas, the Eastside High School Varsity Boys Soccer Team played with tremendous heart and determination and won the Class AAA State Championship on Saturday, May 14, 2005; and
Whereas, the Eastside Eagles Soccer Team faced tough opponents throughout the season, and on each occasion, rose to the challenge, exhibiting extraordinary physical endurance and mental toughness, including two victories over the 2004 Class AAA defending State Champion Greenville High School and two victories over Region III rival Riverside High School; and
Whereas, in their quest for the Class AAA State Championship, the team from Eastside captured the 2005 Region III AAA Championship, and later the AAA Upper-State Championship, while establishing an impressive overall record of twenty-three wins and two losses; and
Whereas, the Eastside Eagles met Socastee High School, an extremely strong and determined opponent, in the championship game, and captured the state title with a 3-2 victory; and
Whereas, the 2005 edition of the Varsity Boys Soccer Team at Eastside High School was made up of a great group of talented student-athletes including Jeffrey Boyd, Drew Davies, Andrew Dobson, Andres Escobar, Franklin Eskridge, Justin Gaillard, Aaron Harkins, Matthew Harmon, Matthew Huffstetler, Willie Hunt, Blake Hunter, John King, Sammy Lortz, Edwin Rengifo, Oscar Restrepo, Kaleb Ross, Leo Rueda, Kevin Ruck, Sean Simmons, Jeffrey Tolbert, and David Wilburn; and
Whereas, the Eastside High School Varsity Boys Soccer Team is led by Head Coach David Craig along with Assistant Coaches Nick Garilas and Ryan Boone; and
Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives are proud to recognize the terrific accomplishments of the Eastside High Boys Soccer Team and hope that all the team members, as well as their family and friends, will forever cherish their championship season. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commend the players, coaches, and staff of the Eastside High School "Eagles" Varsity Boys Soccer Team for their outstanding season of spirited competition and congratulate them on winning the 2005 South Carolina Class AAA Soccer State Championship.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Head Coach David Craig on behalf of the 2005 Eastside High School Varsity Boys Soccer Team.
