A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO HONOR AND RECOGNIZE THE REVEREND DONALD E. GREENE, JR., PASTOR OF ANDREW CHAPEL BAPTIST CHURCH IN ORANGEBURG COUNTY, FOR A DECADE OF SERVICE TO HIS CHURCH AND COMMUNITY AND WISH FOR HIM CONTINUED SUCCESS IN HIS PASTORAL CALLING.

Whereas, the Reverend Donald E. Greene was born in Camden, South Carolina, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, a Masters of Theology and Pastoral Studies, and an Honorary Doctor of Divinity; and

Whereas, after being licensed as a minister and serving as Pastor of New Bethel Baptist Church in Florida, the Reverend Donald Greene was called to pastor Andrew Chapel Baptist Church in July 1995; and

Whereas, during his time as Pastor, the Reverend Greene has accomplished much for Andrew Chapel Baptist Church while the congregation grew to over five hundred members. As pastor, he purchased thirty-three acres of land to construct a new sanctuary in 1999 and held dedication for the new Church edifice on May 27, 2001; and

Whereas, the Reverend Greene established the Andrew Chapel Christian Academy, an independent facility open to children in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade, where enrollment has increased from fifteen children in 1998 to sixty children in 2004; and

Whereas, Reverend Greene oversaw the construction of the Andrew Chapel Baptist Church Fellowship Center, which was dedicated on April 11, 2004, and includes twelve classrooms, a combined computer lab/library, and a children's cafeteria; and

Whereas, the Reverend Donald Greene is a loving husband to the former Candice McNeil and proud father of Caleb Andrew and Aaron Jacob. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representative, by this resolution, honor and recognize the Reverend Donald E. Greene, Jr., for ten years of service as pastor of the Andrew Chapel Baptist Church, and wish him continued success in his pastoral calling.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Reverend Donald E. Greene, Jr., 3670 Five Chop Road, Orangeburg, South Carolina 29115
