A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE GREENWOOD CHRISTIAN SCHOOL VARSITY GIRLS SOCCER TEAM FOR WINNING THE 2005 SCISA CLASS A-AA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives are very pleased to learn that Greenwood Christian School recently won the 2005 South Carolina Independent School Association's Class A-AA State Soccer Championship; and

Whereas, the Greenwood Christian School Lady Hawks went into the playoffs with a record of 8-4. The Lady Hawks beat St. James Island in the first round of the playoffs, Trinity Collegiate in the second round of the playoffs, and Beaufort Academy in the finals to win the state title for the second consecutive year; and

Whereas, under the able leadership of Coach David Harrell, the Lady Hawks this season brought deserved credit not only upon themselves and their school but upon their community and county as well; and

Whereas, the quality of the athletes playing for the Greenwood Christian School means that the Lady Hawks will continue to be a force in SCISA in girls soccer for many years to come; and

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, would like to publicly recognize this wonderful group of girls and their coach for winning the 2005 Class A-AA SCISA State Championship. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives congratulate the Greenwood Christian School varsity girls soccer team for winning the 2005 SCISA Class A-AA State Championship.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Coach David Harrell.
