A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO HONOR AND RECOGNIZE THE COMPORIUM GROUP OF ROCK HILL FOR ITS OUTSTANDING EFFORTS IN KEEPING THE WORKPLACE SAFE AND HEALTHY, AND TO CONGRATULATE THE COMPANY ON RECEIVING THE AMERICAN PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION'S NATIONAL PSYCHOLOGICALLY HEALTHY WORKPLACE AWARD.

Whereas, a healthy and safe workplace necessarily leads to a more effective and competitive workforce; and

Whereas, leaders and employees of The Comporium Group, a telecommunications company, strive to promote the wellbeing of everyone involved, maintaining low turnover, an excellent safety record, and a unique ability to manage insurance costs; and

Whereas, as a nominee for the award, the Rock Hill company was evaluated in the areas of employee involvement, health and safety, employee growth and development, work-life balance, and employee recognition; and

Whereas, emphasizing the importance of employee decision-making, corporate executives allow employee input in decisions that directly affect them, and the corporation as a whole lends a supportive ear to employee's personal concerns; and

Whereas, boasting outstanding employee retention statistics, the corporation reports that the average employee has been with the company for 10 years, with voluntary employee turnover at 2.3 percent; and

Whereas, the House of Representatives is proud to recognize The Comporium Group for its many efforts in the promotion of corporate wellbeing, and encourages other South Carolina corporations to follow in its lead. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, honor and recognize The Comporium Group of Rock Hill for its outstanding efforts in keeping the workplace safe and healthy, and congratulate the company on receiving the American Psychological Association's National Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Glenn McFadden, Executive Vice President of Operations for The Comporium Group.
