VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR CLARENCE V. LEBBY, SR., OF BARNWELL COUNTY FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF OUTSTANDING LEADERSHIP AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO DENMARK TECHNICAL COLLEGE AND TO THE EDUCATION OF THE CITIZENS OF SOUTH CAROLINA.
Whereas, it is with great pleasure that we recognize Mr. Clarence V. Lebby, Sr., who was dedicated to giving his time and energy to the educational development of the citizens of South Carolina; and
Whereas, it is appropriate to recognize the great achievements of Mr. Lebby who selflessly worked toward making his community, as well as his State, a better place to live and learn; and
Whereas, it is also appropriate to commend Mr. Lebby for continuously serving as a pillar of his community; and
Whereas, Mr. Lebby was born to the late Edward Lebby, Sr., and Kathleen K. Lebby in Denmark, South Carolina; and
Whereas, he attended Voorhees Elementary School, Voorhees Normal and Industrial School, and Voorhees Junior College; and
Whereas, Mr. Lebby graduated from Eckels College of Embalming and Sanitary Science in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science Degree, and South Carolina State College in Orangeburg, South Carolina with a Master of Education Degree; and
Whereas, he served for thirty-five years as an educator retiring as Principal of Denmark Public Schools, District II; and
Whereas, Mr. Lebby served as an original appointee to Denmark Technical College Area Commission, appointed by the Governor of the State of South Carolina; and
Whereas, he has given twenty-two years of service to Denmark Technical College Area Commission and has demonstrated his unprecedented ability, care, prudence, and integrity while serving the commission as chairman; and
Whereas, the Essie Moore Carroll and Clarence V. Lebby, Sr., Learning Resources and Technology Center is named in part after Mr. Lebby in honor of his many years of outstanding contributions to educating the students of Denmark Technical College and the citizens of South Carolina. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and honor Clarence V. Lebby, Sr., of Barnwell County for his many years of outstanding leadership and express their sincere appreciation for his tireless service to Denmark Technical College and to the education of the citizens of South Carolina.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Mr. Clarence V. Lebby, Sr.
