A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR PHYLLIS M. TUCKER OF ANDERSON COUNTY FOR HER OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE EDUCATION OF SOUTH CAROLINA'S YOUTH, AND TO WISH HER ALL THE BEST UPON HER RETIREMENT.

Whereas, it is with great pride that the South Carolina House of Representatives recognizes South Carolinians who selflessly give their time and energy in educating and developing young minds; and

Whereas, it is appropriate to recognize the great achievements of those who teach and to commend these individuals who continue to inspire children year after year; and

Whereas, Phyllis M. Tucker, a computer lab assistant in Anderson County School District Five, truly deserves such recognition, as she has helped to shape countless lives in her dedicated twenty-nine year career in education; and

Whereas, the daughter of Corrine M. Boston, Mrs. Tucker was born in Anderson, South Carolina and was raised by her beloved grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Major. She attended Anderson County public schools and graduated from Westside High School in 1965; and

Whereas, the loving wife of Herbert Tucker and the devoted mother of Rhonda T. Sloan, Mrs. Tucker also is the proud and doting grandmother of Chelsea Rogers; and

Whereas, steadfast in her faith, Mrs. Tucker is a loyal member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church, where she is President of Trustee Wives and is on the L. R. Best Scholastic Board. She also has served as Secretary of the Vacation Bible School program for many years; and

Whereas, Mrs. Tucker remains as dedicated to her students and to the furtherance of public education as she was when she began her career in teaching almost thirty years ago, and the students of Anderson County School District Five and the surrounding community are fortunate to have her in their lives. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Phyllis M. Tucker of Anderson County for her outstanding contributions to the education of South Carolina's youth and wish her all the best upon her retirement.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Mrs. Phyllis Tucker.
