A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND MR. GERALD E. WHITE OF LANCASTER COUNTY FOR HIS DISTINGUISHED FORTY-ONE YEARS OF SERVICE AS AN EMPLOYEE AND MANAGER OF LANCASTER COUNTY WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT AND EXTEND TO HIM EVERY BEST WISH FOR A HAPPY AND ENJOYABLE RETIREMENT.

Whereas, the residents of Lancaster County have been blessed with Mr. Gerald E. White's distinguished service as an employee of the Lancaster County Water and Sewer District (LCWSD) for over forty-one years, of which he served twenty-four years as LCWSD Manager; and

Whereas, established in 1959, Lancaster County Water and Sewer District has over nine hundred miles of water lines and over seventy-five miles of sewer lines; and

Whereas, throughout Gerald's extraordinary career with the water and sewer district, LCWSD has been the recipient of numerous awards under his most able leadership; and

Whereas, Gerald was instrumental in establishing the Catawba River Water Treatment Facility, which is capable of producing thirty-six million gallons of water per day, and in establishing the Indian Land Wastewater Treatment Facility, capable of treating two million gallons of wastewater per day and expandable to fifteen million gallons per day; and

Whereas, his endeavors have resulted in the expansion of water and sewer services throughout Lancaster County and have resulted in numerous economic development projects; and

Whereas, Gerald's dedication to the installation of water and sewer infrastructure has significantly improved the quality of life in Lancaster County; and

Whereas, it is proper and fitting that the members of the House of Representatives pause in their deliberations to recognize and thank, on behalf of the citizens of Lancaster County and the State of South Carolina, this dedicated leader for his distinguished service and innumerable contributions as an employee for Lancaster County Water and Sewer District upon the occasion of his retirement. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and commend Mr. Gerald E. White of Lancaster County for his distinguished forty-one years of service as an employee and manager of Lancaster County Water and Sewer District on the occasion of his retirement and extend to him every best wish for a happy and enjoyable retirement.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Mr. Gerald E. White.
