VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO EXPRESS THE GRATITUDE AND APPRECIATION OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA SENATE TO JENNIFER LUCILLE PARRISH, COUNSEL TO THE OFFICE OF SENATE RESEARCH, FOR HER EXCELLENT SERVICE TO THE SENATE, AND TO EXTEND BEST WISHES TO HER IN HER NEW POSITION AS STAFF COUNSEL TO THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES LABOR, COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY COMMITTEE.
Whereas, Jennifer Lucille Parrish, a native of Aiken, South Carolina, served the South Carolina Senate with great dedication over the past four years; and
Whereas, Miss Parrish received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of South Carolina in 1998, and received her Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2003, where she served as Editor in Chief of the Journal of International Law and Business, Treasurer of the Student Bar Association, Secretary of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity, and an elected member of the Legislative Council for the Student Bar Association; and
Whereas, Miss Parrish's service to South Carolina began in 1999 as a staff assistant to the former Lieutenant Governor, the Honorable Bob Peeler, and then with the South Carolina Senate as a law clerk from May 2000 until May 2003. After successfully completing the South Carolina Bar examination, she joined the staff of the Office of Senate Research as Counsel in August 2003; and
Whereas, her research skills and ability to draft legislation proved to be an invaluable asset to the South Carolina Senate and the members and staff of the Senate will miss her assistance, professionalism, charm, and knowledge; and
Whereas, the members of the Senate express their sincere gratitude to Miss Parrish for her loyal and excellent service to the General Assembly and the State of South Carolina; and
Whereas, even though her presence in the Senate will be missed, her resourcefulness will continue to benefit the citizens of this State. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the Senate commend Jennifer Lucille Parrish for her excellent service to the South Carolina Senate, and extend best wishes to her in her new position as Staff Counsel for the South Carolina House of Representatives Labor, Commerce and Industry Committee.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Jennifer Lucille Parrish.
