VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 7-13-37 SO AS TO PROHIBIT AN ELECTOR WHO VOTES IN A PARTISAN PRIMARY ELECTION FROM SIGNING A PETITION FOR A CANDIDATE TO RUN AGAINST THE WINNER OF THE PARTISAN PRIMARY ELECTION.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Article 1, Chapter 13, Title 7 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 7-13-37. An elector may not sign a petition for a candidate to run against the winner of the partisan primary election when that elector has voted in the partisan primary election."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
