Amend the bill, as and if amended, Part IB, Section 63, BUDGET AND CONTROL BOARD, page 458, by adding an appropriately numbered paragraph to read:
/ 63. (BCB: Transportation Study) A study committee to be supported by the staff of the Budget and Control Board is created to study the use of mass transit systems, surface transportation systems, and paratransportation systems in this State to include transportation routes, the use of both rail and buses, and the needs of our State's population with particular emphasis on the elderly. Three members shall be appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, three members shall be appointed by the Speaker of the House, and three members shall be appointed by the Governor. The committee shall render its report to the General Assembly and the Governor not later than June 30, 2006. The members of the committee shall receive the usual mileage, subsistence, and per diem as is paid to members of State boards, commissions, and committees to be paid from the approved accounts of their appointing authority. /
