The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr. as follows:
Our thought for today is from Psalm 7:1: "In You I take refuge."
Let us pray. O God, our refuge and strength, be our shield against all who would mislead us. Put into our hearts and minds the desire to serve Your people with the best we have to offer. May we look to You for guidance and decisions. Bless our Nation, our President, our State and her leaders. Keep our defenders of freedom in Your safe care. In Your Holy Name we pray. Amen.
