The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr. as follows:

Our thought for today is from Psalm 19:7: "The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul."
Let us pray. Be with us, God of creation, Lord of our lives. Enable us to use the talent You have provided. Thank you for every opportunity You allow. May we, this day be instruments of Your caring, as we serve You and the State. Bless our Nation, our President, our State and her leaders. Hold our defenders of freedom in Your safe care. In Your Holy name we pray. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
