The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr. as follows:

Our thought for today is from Samuel 30:24: "The share of the man who stayed with the supplies is to be the same as that of him who went down to the battle. All will share alike."
Let us pray. Dear Lord and Father of mankind, help us to appreciate the work that others do, the service given from their hearts, their sacrifices for the good of others. Help us as we depend on one another. Bless each in a special way. Give care and protection to our Nation, our President, our State and her leaders. Hold our defenders of freedom in Your safe arms. Hear us as we pray. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
