The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:

Our thought for today is from Colossians 4:6: "Let your speech always be gracious."
Let us pray. Gracious God, direct our thoughts and words this day as we work with others in accomplishing the tasks set before us. May we do this with honor and sincerity and respect for each other. Bless our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker and all leaders with wisdom from You. Keep our defenders of freedom safe and in Your care. In the name of our Lord we pray. Amen.
