A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

RECOGNIZING DR. NORMAN E. OUZTS, OF GREENWOOD, SOUTH CAROLINA FOR HIS SERVICE AS THE 2005-2006 PRESIDENT OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA CHIROPRACTIC ASSOCIATION, COMMENDING HIM FOR BEING NAMED THE ASSOCIATION'S DISTRICT DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR, AND CONGRATULATING HIM FOR BEING AWARDED THE ASSOCIATION'S PRESIDENT'S CUP AND "PILLAR OF STRENGTH" AWARD.

Whereas, Dr. Norman Ouzts has been tireless in his service to the South Carolina Chiropractic Association during the past year as its president; and

Whereas, during his presidency, Dr. Ouzts spent countless hours traveling to Columbia to discuss legislative issues, testify at public hearings, attended the Association's district meetings, and recruit new members for the Association; and

Whereas, in honor of his many years of diligent dedication, leadership acumen, and revered integrity, Dr. Ouzts is the recipient of the Association's "Distinguished Service Award," and the merit-based, South Carolina Chiropractic Association President's Cup; and

Whereas, in a tribute to his consistent leadership, energetic participation, and honest feedback, Dr. Ouzts was the 2005 recipient of the South Carolina Chiropractic Association's "Pillar of Strength" award; and

Whereas, Dr. Ouzts also served on the South Carolina Board of Chiropractic Examiners and as Chairman of the State Board before being elected as District Director of the Federal Chiropractic Licensing Board; and

Whereas, Dr. Ouzts became a member of the South Carolina Chiropractic Association as a student before graduating from Life Chiropractic College and beginning his practice in Greenwood in 1993; and

Whereas, Dr. Ouzts remains active in his local community of Greenwood, where he resides with his daughter Mary Claire and son Sam. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, recognize Dr. Norman Ouzts for his service as the 2005-2006 President of the South Carolina Chiropractic Association, commend him on being named the Association's District Director of the Year, and congratulate him for being awarded the Association's President's Cup and "Pillar of Strength" award.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dr. Norman E. Ouzts.
