TO AMEND ACT 536 OF 1986, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE ELECTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR SUMMERVILLE SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 2 IN DORCHESTER COUNTY, SO AS TO CHANGE THE BOUNDARY THAT SEPARATES SUMMERVILLE SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 2 IN DORCHESTER COUNTY AND SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 4 IN DORCHESTER COUNTY; AND TO DESIGNATE A MAP NUMBER FOR THE MAP ON WHICH THESE LINES OF THE ELECTION DISTRICTS FOR TRUSTEES ARE DELINEATED AND MAINTAINED BY THE OFFICE OF RESEARCH AND STATISTICS OF THE STATE BUDGET AND CONTROL BOARD.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Act 536 of 1986, as last amended by Act 445 of 2000, is further amended by adding:
"Section 1B. Beginning with the election conducted in 2005, the boundary delineating the separation of Summerville School District No. 2 and School District No. 4 in Dorchester County which are as shown on the official map designated as S-35-02-05 prepared by and on file with the Office of Research and Statistics of the State Budget and Control Board. The Office of Research and Statistics of the State Budget and Control Board shall provide a copy of the map to the school district and the Dorchester County Registration and Election Commission. The official map must not be changed except by an act of the General Assembly or by a court of competent jurisdiction."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
