A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO HONOR AND CONGRATULATE EDWIN CRAIG STEPHENS III OF MULLINS FOR HIS EXCEPTIONAL ACHIEVEMENT IN BECOMING AN EAGLE SCOUT AND TO WISH HIM THE VERY BEST IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, it is with great pride that the House of Representatives recognizes South Carolina youth who accomplish extraordinary goals through hard work, dedication, and perseverance; and

Whereas, possessing a great love for and commitment to the Boy Scouts of America, sixteen-year-old Edwin Craig Stephens III of Mullins earned his Eagle Scout Award on July 13, 2005, and will be honored in a special Court of Honor on March 5, 2006; and

Whereas, a sophomore at Pee Dee Academy, he is a member of the varsity football team and serves as secretary of the student body. He was a Cub Scout for four years and has been a Boy Scout for five and one-half years; and

Whereas, committed to sharing his faith with others, Ed is active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and is a member of Mullins Presbyterian Church, where he is an active member of the youth group; and

Whereas, this outstanding young South Carolinian plans to attend The Citadel and major in sports management or physical education. He then wants to become a football coach; and

Whereas, Ed Stephens is to be heartily commended for accomplishing this great achievement in scouting which all Boy Scouts aspire to but few actually achieve. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, honor and congratulate Edwin Craig Stephens III of Mullins for his exceptional achievement in becoming an Eagle Scout and wish him the very best in all his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Ed Stephens.
