VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR GARY TAYLOR, OF LEXINGTON COUNTY, FOR TWENTY-SEVEN YEARS OF TIRELESS VOLUNTEER SERVICE TO HIS COMMUNITY AS A MEMBER OF THE PINEVIEW AND PINEVIEW/PINE GROVE SOCCER CLUB.
Whereas, it is with great pleasure that the Senate recognizes individuals who are dedicated to giving their time and energy to community service; and
Whereas, Gary Taylor, of Lexington County, an exemplary volunteer worker for many years, has contributed untold hours of valuable volunteer service to his community and is thereby worthy of praise; and
Whereas, a man with a big heart for children, Mr. Taylor has coached hundreds of young soccer players in the Pineview/Pine Grove soccer community who have grown into responsible citizens; and
Whereas, instrumental in the organization of a soccer league in the Pineview area, he has seen the league grow from only four teams to about forty teams today; and
Whereas, rightly proud of the growth of the soccer league, as well as its great impact on area youth, Mr. Taylor has served the league as president, vice president, and secretary/treasurer and has performed duties ranging from ordering uniforms and refereeing games to playing in all kinds of weather and lobbying for soccer fields; and
Whereas, Gary Taylor is respected as the kind of man who does whatever is needed to ensure the children's welfare and who believes that soccer league is an important resource for youth; and
Whereas, his strong legacy to the Pineview/Pine Grove soccer community resonates in the hearts of appreciative residents and will long be remembered, and the Senate wishes to join them in thanking Mr. Taylor for the many years of committed labor that built that legacy. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, recognize and honor Gary Taylor, of Lexington County, for twenty-seven years of tireless volunteer service to his community as a member of the Pineview and Pineview/Pine Grove Soccer Club.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Gary Taylor.
