A SENATE RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING BONNIE WILLIAMS FOR RECEIVING NATIONAL RECOGNITION FOR HER EDITORIAL WRITING.

Whereas, Bonnie Williams is the editorial page editor of the Anderson Independent Mail, and her strong opinion plays a lead role in determining which topics are addressed; and

Whereas, the Anderson Independent Mail entered a portfolio of Ms. Williams' 2007 editorials, most of which were on local or state issues, to the Scripps Howard Foundation's National Journalism Awards competition; and

Whereas, Ms. Williams has been named a finalist in the editorial writing category of the Scripps Howard Foundation's National Journalism Awards competition, and will be recognized along with other winners at an April 18 dinner at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Bonnie Williams for receiving national recognition for her editorial writing by being named a finalist in the editorial writing category of the Scripps Howard Foundation's National Journalism Awards competition.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Bonnie Williams.
