A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND THE CHAPIN HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY CHEERLEADERS ON THEIR IMPRESSIVE WIN OF THE 2006 CLASS AAA SOUTH CAROLINA HIGH SCHOOL LEAGUE'S COMPETITIVE CHEER CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE, AND TO HONOR THE TEAM, HEAD COACH VICKI WILLIAMS, AND ASSISTANT COACH BILLIE WILLIAMS ON AN EXCEPTIONAL SEASON.

Whereas, no stranger to the taste of victory, the Chapin High School varsity cheerleading team capped its outstanding season by capturing the Class AAA South Carolina High School League's Competitive Cheer Championship title at Columbia's Colonial Center on November 18, 2006; and

Whereas, excellence in cheerleading demands individual strength, agility, and skill, as well as teamwork and good sportsmanship; and

Whereas, using these talents and attributes, Coach Vicki Williams, Assistant Coach Billie Williams, and their team showed both fans and foes alike that the Chapin High School varsity cheerleading team's winning of the state title in 2003 and 2005 (and their grabbing of State Runner-up status in 2004) was no fluke; and

Whereas, the twenty-four young women of the Chapin High School varsity cheerleading team showed great poise, energy, and grace on the mat, always remaining sportsmanlike and representing their school and surrounding community admirably; and

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives takes great pleasure in recognizing the young women of the Chapin High School varsity cheerleading team for their determination and perseverance in achieving, both in the classroom and on the mat, and expects to hear of great accomplishments in the seasons to come. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and commend the Chapin High School varsity cheerleaders on their impressive win of the 2006 Class AAA South Carolina High School League's Competitive Cheer Championship title, and honor the team, Head Coach Vicki Williams, and Assistant Coach Billie Williams on an exceptional season.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Chapin High School.
