Whereas, true prowess in swimming demands individual strength, agility, and skill, as well as team cohesiveness and good sportsmanship; and

Whereas, using those talents and attributes, Coach Amy Thompson and the members of the Dorman High School Swim Team capped an outstanding season by winning the Girls Medley Relay Event at the 2006 AAAA State Championship; and

Whereas, defeating fierce competitors to take the top spot, the Dorman Swim Team stayed calm and focused, determined to take home a first place finish; and

Whereas, outstanding student athletes on the award-winning relay team included Costa Jennings, Cameron Force, Courtney Dennis, and Lauryl Williams; and

Whereas, throughout the season the team showed great confidence, attributable to Coach Amy Thompson and Assistant Coach John Sewell, whose time and energy spent encouraging their team to perform to their individual and collective abilities necessarily led to their successes; and

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives take great pride in commending the athletes of the Dorman High School Swim Team for their tireless efforts and great determination in achieving an outstanding season and recognize them for this wonderful accomplishment. Now, therefore,
