VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA GENERAL ASSEMBLY UPON THE DEATH OF MR. JAMES CLARENCE PRINCE, OF MCCORMICK COUNTY, AND TO EXTEND THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Mr. James Clarence Prince on August 19, 2006, at the venerable age of 102; and
Whereas, born in Edgefield County on August 14, 1904, he was a son of the late John and Martha Lanham Prince; and
Whereas, he was joined in holy matrimony with the late Sarah Lassiter Prince, and to that union ten children were born, six of whom preceded Mr. Prince in death: Johnny James, David, Charles, Charlie, Sr., Donzie Lee, and Moses; and
Whereas, Mr. Prince was a member of Bethany Masonic Lodge #415, Burial Aide Society, and New Hope Baptist Church in McCormick, where he served on the Board of Deacons and the Senior Choir; and
Whereas, a retired logger, Mr. Prince was also retired from the United States Forestry Service; and
Whereas, he is survived by four of his children, Mrs. Louise (Earthy) Duncan, of McCormick; Mrs. Mary Ann Sibert, of Port Washington, New York; Clarence (Charlie Mae) Prince, of Spartanburg; and Jesse Prince, of Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Molene Harrison, of McCormick, and Mrs. Fannie Hardy, of White Plains, New Jersey; daughters-in-law Elnora Prince, Hazel Prince, and Betty Prince; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, and other relatives; and
Whereas, although they rejoice at his homegoing to be with the Lord, all who knew and loved him will miss him. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, express their profound sorrow upon the death of Mr. James Clarence Prince, of McCormick County, and extend the deepest sympathy to his family and many friends.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Louise Duncan for the family.
