TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND THE 2007 MID-CAROLINA HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL TEAM FOR ITS OUTSTANDING SEASON AND FOR CAPTURING THE CLASS AA UPPER STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.

Whereas, the Mid-Carolina High School baseball team captured the 2007 Class AA Upper State Championship title with two convincing victories in a doubleheader over Emerald High School of Greenwood on May 4, 2007, in Greenwood; and

Whereas, the Mid-Carolina High Rebels advanced to the state baseball championship series against Bishop England of Charleston and a host of Mid-Carolina fans proudly supported their Rebels against the Battling Bishops; and

Whereas, in a season of distinction, the 2007 Mid-Carolina High School baseball team completed a highly impressive campaign, finishing the regular season with a 23-10 record before falling to Bishop England in a hard-fought state championship series of two out of three games; and

Whereas, the twenty-three victories achieved by the stellar baseball team of Mid-Carolina High resulted from the skill, hard work, and perseverance of a team dedicated to achieving success on the baseball diamond; and

Whereas, in the upper state championship series, the championship win in game two over the Emerald High Vikings was Head Coach Clyde Livingston's 400th win in his career at Mid-Carolina High; and

Whereas, the talented players on this championship baseball team are Stephen Ariail, Will Bedenbaugh, Andrew Branham, Adam Cassada, Bryan Cotney, Maricus Flemon, Shane Graham, C.J. Hentz, Chris Hentz, Krishawn Holley, Robert Lake, Cody Page, Chris Ringer, Jerry Sexton, Mason Taylor, Cornelius Wadsworth, Tevins Walker, and Dontre Wise; and

Whereas, the dedicated coaches of this championship team are Head Coach Clyde Livingston, Jr., and Assistant Coaches Clyde Livingston III, and Russell Peel, under the administration of Athletic Director Louie Alexander and Principal Dr. Lynn Cary; and

Whereas, the 2007 Mid-Carolina High School baseball team has brought great pride and recognition to the school and to the Mid-Carolina community, and the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are pleased to honor such an exceptional group of young men and their coaches. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and commend the Mid-Carolina High School baseball team for its outstanding season and for capturing the 2007 Class AA Upper State Championship title.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Head Coach Clyde Livingston, Jr., Athletic Director Louie Alexander, and Mid-Carolina Principal Dr. Lynn Cary.
