A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR DR. ROXZANNE B. BRELAND FOR HER DEDICATED SERVICE AS 2006-2007 PRESIDENT OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA CHIROPRACTIC ASSOCIATION.

Whereas, as president of the South Carolina Chiropractic Association this past year, Dr. Roxzanne B. Breland has served the organization tirelessly; and

Whereas, the first female to be elected president of the association, she has spent countless hours during her presidency traveling to Columbia to discuss legislative issues and to promote the South Carolina Chiropractic Association through attending the association's district meetings and recruiting new members for the association; and

Whereas, in beginning her career, Dr. Breland taught at the Sherman College of Chiropractic upon her graduation in 1986 and in 1991 became a member of the South Carolina Chiropractic Association, serving on its board of directors for over a decade; and

Whereas, she was granted the association's Distinguished Service Award in 2000, in recognition of her commitment to representing the association as a charter member and current president of the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Board of Directors. In addition, because of her consistent leadership, in 2003 she was the recipient of the association's Presidential Pillar of Strength Award; and

Whereas, in further service, Dr. Breland lends her expertise and time to the South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Board; and

Whereas, active in her local community of Simpsonville, she resides there with her husband, Harvey, and her children, Breece, Jessica, Sabrie, and Rollins; and

Whereas, the General Assembly takes great pleasure in recognizing the committed service of such an outstanding daughter of South Carolina as Dr. Roxzanne B. Breland and extends best wishes for continued success in years to come. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, recognize and honor Dr. Roxzanne B. Breland for her dedicated service as 2006-2007 president of the South Carolina Chiropractic Association.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Dr. Roxzanne B. Breland.
