VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO EXTEND A WARM AND HEARTY GREETING TO THE FAMILIES GATHERING TO CELEBRATE THE OCCASION OF THE KELLER FAMILY REUNION TO BE HELD FROM SEPTEMBER 11 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 13, 2008, IN MYRTLE BEACH, SOUTH CAROLINA.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are pleased to learn that the members of the Keller family will have a reunion in Myrtle Beach to renew and preserve family unity, a keystone to a healthy State; and
Whereas, the Keller families and descendants originated in Fairfield County through the union of Lark Frank Keller and Abiodie Suber, who had one son Lark Keller, Jr., in the early 1800s; and
Whereas, the second generation continued with the union of Lark Frank Keller, Jr., and Sallie Blair, who were the parents of one son Ravenell Keller; and
Whereas, Ravenell Keller married Gennie Whitener, and they reared eight children: Clementine K. Bowman, Sallie Ruth Thompson, Bessie K. Pearson, Edward Lee Keller, Ravenell Keller, Jr., Lark Keller, Eva Sims, and Jacqueline K. Hill; and
Whereas, the first Keller reunion took place in the late 1970s at the family home located in Jenkinsville, South Carolina, and has continued periodically since then; and
Whereas, the Keller family members have always exemplified strong leadership in their communities and have been a positive influence to young people by providing them with both mental and physical help throughout their lives; and
Whereas, family reunions such as the Kellers' are beneficial for all generations and degrees of kinship, for they provide a special time to reaffirm the bonds of unity and love that have been the family's backbone and strength for generations and to share stories, wisdom, family history, heritage, legacy, roots, and the foundation of love and unity for the future. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, extend a warm and hearty greeting to the families gathering to celebrate the occasion of the Keller family reunion to be held from September 11 through September 13, 2008, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Keller family.
