VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES UPON THE DEATH OF NORA L. HATFIELD, OF LEE COUNTY, AT THE AGE OF NINETY-FIVE, AND TO EXTEND THEIR DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HER FAMILY, MANY FRIENDS, AND COMMUNITY.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives were deeply sadden to learn of the death of Lee County native, Nora L. Hatfield, at the age of ninety-five, on June 21, 2008; and
Whereas, Nora Hatfield was the daughter of the late E. E. Hancock and the late Ila Mathis Hancock. She was adopted and reared by the late Leslie A. Lee and the late Lillie M. Lee; and
Whereas, she was first married to the late T. O. Corbett, then to the late Louie Hapeshis, and then to the late Daniel J. Hatfield; and
Whereas, Mrs. Hatfield is survived by three sons: Leslie Corbett, Daniel Hatfield, and Jimmy Burdick; three daughters: Carolyn Hancock, Louise McCutchen, and Harriett Reames; a granddaughter, Janene Medlin; a great-grandson, Dusty Bussart; ten step-grandchildren; a sister, Lib Davis; and several nieces and nephews; and
Whereas, Nora Hatfield was preceded in death by a son, George Hapeshis; two brothers, Harmon Hancock and Edward Lee; and two sisters, Eula Pate and Margaret Lee; and
Whereas, Mrs. Hatfield is remembered as a gracious and kind friend to everyone who knew her; and
Whereas, her longevity has surely had an effect to improve the lives of all with whom she came in contact. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives express their profound sorrow upon the death of Nora L. Hatfield, of Lee County, at the age of ninety-five, and extend their deepest sympathy to her family, friends, and community.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the family of Nora L. Hatfield.
